Why Geeks Should Know How to Write:

    A geek in today's world doesn't need much- only a Wi-Fi connection and a decent gaming computer. With developing technology letting geeks around the world interact with each other regardless of distance, it is easy to understand how the geek population is growing, and with the new population, the need and desire for communication is growing as well. As a non-geek its difficult to see the interest or the importance that is seemingly placed on video games, computer programming, and anime; however, as a geek, the true art and craftsmanship required for these emerging interests are greatly appreciated and revered. It is because of this underrated appreciation of the general public that geeks need to learn to write- to share the love that we feel towards the geekier things in life.

    As I learned the hard way, the majority of people do not care about the new graphics card that you installed or the battle bot you built last year, so geeks need to write to properly express and share the beauty of all things related to our culture. Writing about the things that interest us help us spread our ideas, our inventions, and most importantly our culture- it is one of the few ways that we can help the geek community grow even more. Sharing our ideas has already lead to amazing things, and if we continue to share, the rate of technological advancement can only increase. Although there may be other ways to share this information, without being able to correctly articulate and describe them they cannot be formed correctly and reach their full potential. Ultimately, geeks play a huge role in the advancement of technology, and thus their ability to write and express their thoughts is a determining factor for the future.
